Dallas Baptist University Dean Learning Center

Continuing in DBU’s Georgian Colonial architectural style, the Dr. William B. Dean Learning Center is modeled after Harvard Hall III, one of the oldest academic buildings in America.  The 16,000 SF facility is named in memory of Dallas pediatrician and DBU supporter Dr. William B. Dean, a pioneer in polio research, treatment and prevention, and in the fields of dyslexia and learning disabilities. He created the Dean Learning Center with a focus on learning disabilities, and established innovative programs including teacher training, diagnostic evaluations, and special education.

The learning center will centralize student learning and community engagement by housing the Department of Online Education, the College of Professional Studies, the Dr. William B. Dean Service-Learning Program, Career Services Office and the Office of Student Life.

FJW Construction served as the construction manager for the project.  This engagement represents a continued relationship with Dallas Baptist University:  FJW has been a part of multiple projects on the DBU campus such as the Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark, Herman and Patsy Smith Center, Sadler Global Missions Center and Joan and Andy Horner Hall.
