Promiseland West Dream City

PromiseLand West Church has grown to a weekly attendance of 700 in three years. This growth prompted the church to envision a new campus that they call Dream City. Phase I of Dream City will include a 54,500 SF multipurpose facility with seating for 1,250, planning for future 34,000 SF Worship Assembly seating of over 3,000, and support functions. Additional phases will include a 2,500-seat amphitheater, 5,000 SF Chapel, 64,000 SF children’s building, 20,000 SF administration building and 60,000 SF sanctuary that will seat 3,200.

FJW has worked with PLW to bring overall costs of the project down from $12 million to $9.5 million. In doing so, all the major functions of the church were retained, such as ministry needs, infant care/security, preschool, youth, chapel, worship assembly, recreation, event management, food preparation, administrative functions, counseling, and pastoral care. FJW interviewed and programmed needs of the various levels of users/stakeholders such as pastoral leadership, administrative staff, teachers/youth leaders, and board/building committee to achieve a programmatic analysis of current Phase I multipurpose building functions and final master plan functions. Special attention is being given to media, acoustic, sound and lighting planning. FJW created a project plan which included Jackson Galloway (architect), legal, HP Engineering (civil), and sub-consultants to manage the project through development approvals, permitting and infrastructure development and building construction.
