LaDuni Latin Café and Mojito Bar

FJW Construction was selected to finish-out the interior of the LaDuni Latin Café and Mojito Bar at DFW's International Terminal D.

The 2,400 SF project was designed to recreate the atmosphere associated with dining in one of the local Dallas LaDuni restaurants. LaDuni mixes the flavors, aromas, colors, textures, forms and sounds of both European traditions and Latin soul to create the ultimate "Mestizo" experience. The space is finished in rich woodwork with granite counter tops, stone flooring and warm welcoming colors, and lighted with unique chandeliers, wall sconces and accent lighting. FJW coordinated all aspects of the construction process including the receipt, delivery and installation of all owner-furnished equipment and fixtures.

This project was challenging in that the construction documents did not include the structural information needed for the numerous suspended signs. FJW worked closely with subcontractors to remedy this deficiency. Another challenge was that the project had to be fast-tracked to meet the original planned opening of the Terminal. All work was performed in a high security area, requiring coordination with TSA and airport security service for both terminal and airside access.
