Abilene Regional Diagnostic Surgical Center

Because of our expertise in specialty healthcare, our commitment to client satisfaction and our company’s longevity, FJW Construction has had a working relationship with Abilene Regional Medical Center’s staff for over a decade. It was their knowledge of our experience and service that led Abilene Regional to select FJW Construction as the interior finish-out contractor for their 20,000-sf shell building.

Abilene Regional Medical Center, which performed the first cardiac catheterization and the first open-heart surgery in Midwest Texas, recently added this state-of-the-art diagnostic surgical center to its family. FJW added five operating room suites, an eighteen-bed post anesthesia care unit, and a full diagnostic department housing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scanner, and general radiology.

Because this shell building was an acquisition by the client, FJW worked closely with Abilene Regional staff to bring the facility to hospital standards prior to commencing construction. FJW’s team carefully communicated and coordinated with the shell contractor as both were performing simultaneously. One of the most complex coordinations was that of the building electrical systems.

The new Diagnostic Surgical Center is a great new addition to the Abilene Regional Medical Center 33-acre campus in South Abilene.
