Baylor Scott & White, along with United Surgical Partners International (USPI), engaged FJW Construction to oversee the renovation and expansion of the Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital at Arlington (BOSHA). The 13,000 square-foot project consists of four operating rooms, nine post-anesthesia care units, three pre-operation stations, a new pain management area, and a new central sterile supply and storage department .
The addition was completed on the rear portion of the building, adjacent to existing functioning operating rooms . Many of the MEP systems are shared with the original building and had to be maintained, added on to or modified during construction without impacting operations . The single-story addition was built in a manner that allows for vertical expansion to accommodate future growth.
