FJW providing services at the University of Kansas
Oct 15, 2015
As part of the Broaddus Companies, FJW Construction is serving on the B.A. Green Construction - WEITZ team to build new student housing at the University of Kansas.  The two new residence halls, Madison and Lila Self Hall and Charles Oswald Hall, represent the first new student housing construction in 48 years on the Lawrence, Kansas campus.  They will replace McCollum Hall, which will be demolished following the completion of the new halls and converted into additional parking. FJW and its team provided drywall, ceilings and installation of the exterior cement panel finishing systems.

The new buildings include a commons area providing a lobby, academic resource center, laundry room and kitchen. The commons area will connect the two five-story residence towers, which will house 350 students each.  The freshman-focused residence halls were constructed at a cost of nearly $48 million and are scheduled to open this fall.
