FJW a part of team to win multiple Outstanding Design awards for Dallas Baptist University
Feb 05, 2014

Two Dallas Baptist University projects were awarded Outstanding Design Awards from the American School & University. FJW Construction was the builder for both projects under the design architects BMA (The Sadler Global Mission Center) and HKS (The Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark).

The first project awarded, the Missions Center, is a $4 million, 20,480 SF student union. The two-story facility was designed with a brick veneer exterior to match the Georgian architectural style of the campus and high-end interior finishes. The building includes faculty and staff offices, classrooms, a multi-purpose room with operable partitions and a stage, as well as numerous gathering areas for students.

The second project, Horner Ballpark, is new baseball facility that can now house over 2,000 spectators and includes four guest suites, a pavilion near left field for large groups, and party plazas along both sides of the concourse. In keeping with the architectural theme of the campus, Horner Ballpark exhibits a Georgian-style facade of dark red brick. The FJW team worked diligently to complete the project during a single off season in time for the home opener in February 2013. FJW is proud to have supported DBU in opening of one of the premier facilities in NCAA Division I College Baseball.
