Tate Springs Baptist Church Education and Family Facility

Tate Springs Baptist Church, which was established in 1882, recently engaged FJW construction to build their new 24,500sf education facility. The project included expansion of the existing building as well as site, infrastructure and landscape improvements.

The FJW team made numerous recommendations in the pre-construction planning phase to the church committee that resulted in cost and time savings. These recommendations included a change in the fabrication of the concrete arch above the windows on the second floor, stained concrete in the gaming area in lieu of carpet, spreading excavated soil on site instead of removing it at an additional cost, and relocating the main electrical feeders to accommodate future expansion plans. Another benefit to the owner was recommendations made by FJW team members regarding correcting existing site conditions to make them ADA compliant.

In addition, the location of the church near a residential area required FJW to work diligently on noise abatement, which included a limited work schedule. FJW was able to stay on schedule by working on weekends to keep the construction work during the daytime hours.

The numerous recommendations made by FJW were adopted and of great benefit to this satisfied client.
